How to Use Jetpack Publicize to Auto-Share WordPress Posts to Social Media

Jetpack is a freemium WordPress Plugin developed by WordPress.com. It has a free component called Publicize that allows you to automatically share your WordPress posts to various social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus. This tutorial is going to show you how to use Jetpack Publicize.

Install JetPack Plugin on Your WordPress Site

Go to your WordPress Dashboard (www.your-domain.com/wp-admin), select Plugins on the left sidebar, then click Add New.

Since Jetpack is so popular, you might see it under the featured plugins tab. If not, then type in “Jetpack” in the search box and it should be the first result “Jetpack by WordPress.com”. Click Install Now button.

After it’s installed, click Activate button. Then you will need to connect Jectpack to WordPress.com. Click Connect to WordPress.com button.

Next, you will need to log into your WordPress.com account, which is different from your WordPress site account. Once you are logged in, click Approve button to complete the connection.

After that, you will be asked to pick a plan. We can click start with free button to go back to our WordPress site.

Configuring Jetpack Publicize

To use Jetpack publicize, we need to select settings under the Jetpack tab on the left sidebar. Then under the Sharing tab, click connect your social media accounts.

You will be taken to WordPress.com. Click Connect button and follow the instruction to connect your social media accounts. For Facebook and Google+, it’s recommended that you select your business page instead of your personal profile.

Once it’s done, you new posts will be automatically posted to your connected social media accounts. When you write a post, you can see what social media platform the post will be posted on in the right sidebar.
